Industry Background Papers

Dis-IT researchers from the Neil Squire Society developed background papers on (1) current state-of-the-art of wireless technology applications and (2) industry market trends regarding wireless technologies.

  • "Wireless Technology and Accessible Public Services"
This paper examines current wireless technology standards from two key points of view: (1) industry standards and (2) disability-specific standards. The industry standards tend to be focused very much on wireless technological issues, whereas the various proposed disability standards are focused on usability issues.
  • "Wireless Public Services – Current Implementations and Trends"
This paper focuses on market trends for wireless technology and services that are either currently available or will likely be in the near future.
